Hazel Atlas PitcherYou are buying one (1) pitcher. Shipping is FREE to the United States!
This clear glass pitcher is vintage depression glass. Made by Hazel Atlas in the 1930's and early 1940's. The pattern is called Royal Lace. This is a heavy, thick, quality glass that is surprising clear for it's age. Weights about 3 & 1/2 pounds and has a 96 ounce capacity.
The pitcher is in very nice condition. I have thoroughly cleaned the stubborn "film of age" from the glass and it has great clarity, just a few tiny seed bubbles. There are no chips or cracks to the glass. The only damage are some faint scratches mostly on the bottom, a few on the sides, from stirring with a metal spoon. Not deep at all and difficult to see unless looking closely.
There are a couple other issues I want to disclose. I do not consider these issues damage, these are common issues with older glass. However, I like to be as detailed as possible with my listings and informative to any buyers new to vintage glass.
The ice lip is folded a bit unevenly (this era of glass was still all hand tooled so there are commonly slight imperfections with the applied features). It doesn't detract from the shape, the spout just isn't perfectly round, one side is pulled a bit lower. See photos for close up. Lastly, there is a
"ghost" mold line shadowing the forward facing line below the spout. (Another common issue with early-mid century molds).
Can be seen up close in photos.
