    Description

    Offering a marvelous 19th century Japanese Gofun Warrior Doll.
    This doll is mounted on a wood base and protected under a domed glass. The domed glass measures 12" in height and 10" in diameter.
    The warrior doll measures just under 8" in height.
    His face is carved gofun. His legs and his hands are either carved wood or composite. His hands are painted blue. His outfit is glazed paper and brocade.
    He carries a standard topped with a peach and bearing a cloth with hand painted Japanese characters.
    There is no real damage on the doll, just the surface wear of time. This belonged to my great aunt and I understand she actually purchased him in Japan and added the dome when she came to the US in the 1920's.
